Now onto Edwards Tree Two
My mom was an Edwards descendant out of Brunswick county, North Carolina.I am having a difficult time trying to find out for certain which line my Edwards came from. My line comes from Nathaniel Edwards born in Virginia abt. 1768 -1770 and died in Brunswick county NC ABT 1861 Nathaniel was sometimes called Nathan and was living with his son Edmund Edwards when he died at abt the age of 92. His wife was called Polly and i know of 3 children. Edmund, John, Bryan, and a son JONAS, who married Elizabeth Ross. and a daughter Mary Ann ,who married a Milliken . There is a Thomas Edwards listed on a 1790 census for Brunswick county, NC AND THEN IN 1800 a Thomas Edwards and a Jesse Edwards and a THO, Edwards. 1810 census for Brunswick county NC only has a N Edwards listed and after that you find a Nathan or Nathaniel listed whic is the same person. I think this Thomas may be the father of Nathaniel Edwards and Nathaniel full name may be Thomas Nathaniel Edwards. The Jesse could be a brother. So many different families lay claim to a Nathaniel Edwards married to a Mary Ann McCellean till i am no longer sure that My Nathnaiel Edwards wife was A Mary Ann McClellan / I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY FAMILY members that is her name and she was called Polly . Her son Edmund and Jonas said their mother, wife of Nathaniel Edwards was born in NC AND FATHER IN NathaNiel in Virginia.

ReplyDeleteI am an Edwards descendant and have traced my line all the way to Edwards Hall. I was wondering if you or anyone else knew the exact location of Edwards Hall. I am trying to put together a map of birth places and burial places for our reference. I will cite you in the work. Any info on any other important sites would be helpful too. Thanks1
